She was born March 24, 1927 in Yakima, WA, the daughter of Peter J. and Ruth (Brown) Gardner. A year later the family moved to the Twin Ports area and Jacquelyn attended schools in Superior, WI and Duluth, MN, earning degrees at the College of St. Scholastica and the University of Minnesota. In 1947 she entered the Order of St. Benedict, and for 27 years served in educational and administrative positions. Leaving the Order in 1974, she moved to Eau Claire, and was employed as a medical transcriptionist at Sacred Heart Hospital, and subsequently as Supervisor of the Business Division at Chippewa Valley Technical College. In 1977, Jacquelyn married Thomas J. Graham, Sr. They continued to live in Eau Claire, traveling, golfing, enjoying numerous winters in AZ and a plethora of friends.
Jacquelyn is survived by dear step-children, including daughters, Mary (Tuppy) Reilly, West Hartford, CT and Patricia (Fred) Seggelink, Medford, OR; son, Thomas J. (Penny) Graham, Jr., Eau Claire; daughter-in-law, Linda St. Louis, Farmington Hills, MI; sister-in-law, Lorna Gardner; cousin, Patsy Jo Campbell; many nieces and nephews; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and long-time friend, G. Ruth McMillen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; step-son, Fred; parents; and brother, Thad J. Gardner.
A memorial Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 1712 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, on Saturday, Jan. 29th at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Sacred Heart Hospital Cancer Center, 900 West Clairemont, Eau Claire WI 54701 or to the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic, P.O. Box 231, Eau Claire, WI 54702.
