A Cherokee County native, he was the son of the late C.V. and Martha Ingram Bolton. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a retired textile employee.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Bruce Bolton of Camden, Tenn.; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Winstead, Mrs. Ruth Fowler and Mrs. Phylis Bullock of Gaffney; a sister, Flora Martin of Cherokee Falls; 12 grandchildren; and 15 greatgrandchildren.
Services were conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. in Northside Baptist Church by the Revs. M.P. Hampton, Otis Vinesett and Dr. Edward McAbee. Burial was in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
Nephews served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the Rev. Vernon Mullinax, deacons and members of Mr. Bolton's Sunday school class.
