Alice Beatrice DeSpain passed away July 18, 2005 in Alice. She was 72. Mrs. DeSpain was born June 23, 1933 in Tynan, Texas to Luther and Nora O'Neil. She was a retired nurse's aid and a member of the Freer Church of Christ.
Mrs. DeSpain was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene O. DeSpain and two daughters, Elizabeth Kelly and Brenda Garett.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce (Richard) Schane of Alice, Texas; two sisters, Joyce Smith of Portland, Texas and Evon Moore of Port Isabel, Texas; one brother, Nolan (Elizabeth) O'Neil of Bryan, Texas; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 20, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2005 at the Morningside Drive Church of Christ in Alice. Burial will follow in Hahl Memorial Park in Freer
