Funeral services were held this morning from James Funeral Home for Ira E. Goodrich, 84, pioneer Grinnell businessman who died October 14 following an illness of several weeks.
Associated with the Grinnell Provision Company here for nearly 56 years, he firsts became a member of the company in 1899 shortly after moving into Grinnell.

Born September 20th, 1871 on a farm near Grinnell, he was the son of O.D. and Jane Goodrich. He attended rural schools in this vicinity and in March 1897 was married to Minnie G Daugherty of Marengo who preceded him in death in 1937.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Addie Billlick of Chicago, Mrs. Julia Eichorn of Montezuma, and one brother George of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Another daughter, Mrs. Wiley (Bernice) Burden is deceased.

Pallbearers were Raymond Norris, Irving Howell, Wesley Ahrens, Earl Mathews, J.Parrott and D.M. Reynolds while Wilford Smiley, Murry Watkins, A.B Hamilton, Roy Bates, Croft Pilgrim and John Manly served as honorary pallbearers.
