Margaret M. Arthur
Margaret Marie Arthur Bragg, 81, of Bragg, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at Raleigh Center in Daniels.
Born April 3, 1919, at Pear, she was the daughter of Bertha L. Goodson Meadows and the late Samuel A. Bragg.
Mrs. Arthur was a homemaker and had been employed by the Raleigh County Community Action.
She was a member of Abraham Freewill Baptist Church.
Her hobbies included gardening and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Russell B. Arthur, who died on June 18, 1997; three sons, Willard B. Meadows and Wendell B. Arthur, and an infant son; an infant grandson, Anthony Ray; one great granddaughter, Natalie; and two brothers, Leonard A. and Paul E. Bragg.
Other survivors include four daughters, Shirley Crawford and her husband, Franklin "Dee". of Ghent, Lorreta C. "Sue" Bragg and husband, Robert, of Jumping Branch, Sharon Bragg and husband, Donald, of Shady Spring, and Debra Farley and husband, Thomas, of Cool Ridge; three sons, Harold D. Arthur and wife, Kathy, of Brunswick, Ohio, Russell Dale Arthur and wife, Ethel, of Shady Spring, and Robert Arthur and wife, Teresa, of Richmond, Va.; four brothers, Edward Bragg and wife, Lona, of Shady Spring, Beecher Bragg and wife, Nina, of MacArthur, Charles Bragg and wife, Helen, of Shady Spring, and James L. Bragg and wife, Anna, of Cleveland, Ohio; 24 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with Rev. Delmas Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodson Cemetery, Bragg.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
