The March 12, 1931 edition of The Robesonian included the following: Mrs. S. C. Hall of Elrod Dies Here – Was Sister of Rev. E. A. Paul – Funeral and Interment at Mt. Moriah this P.M. – Mrs. S. C. Hall, 56 of Elrod, died in a local sanatorium at 8 o'clock last night of pneumonia after an illness of over a week. Funeral services will be conducted at Mt. Moriah Baptist church of which she was a member, between Rowland and Maxton at 3 p.m. today…and interment will be made in the church cemetery. Surviving are her husband, 7 children, Dessie, Lorene, Lillie, Pearl, Felix, Nathan and Elias; 3 brothers – Rev. E. A. Paul of East Lumberton, Mr. Ira Paul of Elrod and Mr. Newit Paul of Plant City, Fla.
