Mollie was the daughter of William Coy and Susan Binkley. She was born in Willona, Kentucky. She came to Whitesboro, Texas, with her parents when she was 14.

On April 27, 1884, Mollie married James Norton in Denton, Texas. In 1900 they were living in Waco with four children. James was a car inspector for a railroad. It is not known how the marriage ended.

Mollie and her husband Ed Brown moved to Dallas about 30 years before her death. Ed was a building contractor.

Mollie attended the Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Rebekah auxiliary of the Odd Fellows Lodge for 15 years.

She was survived by her husband and children: two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Jones and Mrs. George L. Gallagher, and a son, Nevel A. Norton.

Mollie's name on the death certificate is Mollie, not Mary. Ed Brown was the informant.

The grave is unmarked and the cemetery office has no record of the burial location.
