Jacob Schmaljohann died at his home near Rockville March 3d 1911, after an illness of about two week. Age 70 years 2 months and 11 days. Mr. Schmaljohann was born in Heinholz Province Schleswig Holstein Germany. He was married to Miss Meta Hashagen on the 18th day of Aug. 1867 at Altanna Germany. He Immigrated to America in 1872 remaining in Chicago until 1874 when he left for Sherman Co. Nebr. and took up a homestead on which he has lived continually since. Mr. Schmaljohannn is survived by his wife and 7 children, one girl and six boys all of whom are living and were at his bedside at the time of his death excepting Carl and Reimer. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. C. Harper of the Methodist church of Loup City and the remains were interred in the Stine cemetery.
