Martha H. Aalvik died at the home of Mrs. Herborg Kanikkeberg near Stevenson, Monday evening. She came here from Oakland, California several weeks ago in the hope that our climate would do her good. At first she improved and seemed to be getting along quite nicely, and even the day she died she seemed to be much better, but an extended season of ill health had so weakened her heart action that it could not stand the strain and so she dropped dead very suddenly.
Martha H. Aalvik was born in Oistesse, Hardanger, Norway, 41 years ago. She came to this country about 15 years ago and has since lived in California. She has a sister living in Astoria, Oregon and she came up this morning to attend the funeral which is being conducted this afternoon. Burial will be in Odd Fellow's cemetery beside her brother Peder Aalvik, who died here about four years ago.
