Erma Kathryn Marshall, 87, Grampian died Friday at her home after a lengthy illness.
Born July 20, 1922 in Grampian, she a daughter of the late George Earl and Dessie Jane London Hess. She was married to Frederick J. Marshall who preceded her in death Oct. 31, 1987.
She was a retired seamstress having worked for the former Hosiery Mill and the former Kent's Sportswear both of Curwensville. She was a member of St. Bonaventure's Roman Catholic Church in Grampian.
Survivors include two daughters: Joann "Cricket" (James) Conrad of Grampian and Barbara Witherow of Curwensville; and two sisters, Helen S. (Harry) Estright of Inverness, Fla., and Margaret Lozaw of Appleton, N.Y.; five grandchildren and six-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers: George Jr., Frank, William, and Raymond Hess and a sister, Phynella Updegraph.

MARSHALL: Erma Kathryn, Grampian, died May 21, 2010. There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Bonaventure's Roman Catholic Church, Grampian, with the Rev. Fr. Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bonaventure's Roman Catholic Church or St. Theresa's Guild of St. Bonaventure's Church, Grampian, PA 16838.
