FREDONIA - Nola Phyllis Burch, 86, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at her home in Fredonia. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Timmons Funeral Home Chapel, Fredonia, with the Revs. Gene Benefiel and W. Lawrence Grove officiating.
She was born Nov. 28, 1917, in Lowe to Everett Herman and Floy (Lavely) Banning.
She received her education in the Lowe schools. She worked as a caregiver in local homes. She and her husband lived near Sedan until moving in 1950 in Elk County. In 1979 she moved to Fredonia. She also was a homemaker.
She married Loren "Clyde" Burch July 24, 1937, at Pawhuska, Okla. He survives of the home.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Fredonia, and was active in the Friendly Fourteen, Longton.
Other survivors include a son, Sonny Burch, Ottawa; a daughter, Clydene Owen, Osawatomie; three brothers, Lyle Banning, Gervais, Ore., Melvin Banning, Sacramento, Calif., Keith Banning, Wichita; a sister, Peg Wilson, Bend, Ore.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Elmo Banning; and two sisters, Norma Burton and Lena Utterback.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Timmons Funeral Home Chapel, Fredonia.
Memorials have been established in her name with the Buxton Christian Church and the First United Methodist Church, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 168 Fredonia 66736.
