Son of Annie Stockard and Walter Hinton Sr. He married Helen Knight on 22 Oct 1938 and they had two known children. He was a dentist in Greensboro and is listed in the Journal of the North Carolina Dental Society. As noted on his stone, he faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
