Charles Edward (Cheesie) Becker, 89, Corydon, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at Harrison Health & Rehabilitation Centre in Corydon.

Born July 5, 1921, in Corydon, he was the son of the late Ed and Elizabeth Wernert Becker.

He was a retired mail carrier in Corydon, a member of Corydon Presbyterian Church and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association, a life member of VFW Post 2950 in Corydon and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Orville J. Becker, and a sister, Jean Becker.

Survivors include his wife, the former Norma L. Pheffer; a son, Barry L. Becker of Corydon; a daughter, Linda S. Becker of Corydon; and a grandson.

Visitation: Tuesday, Feb. 1, after 1 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral: Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

Officiant: The Rev. Scott Hill.

The family suggests memorial gifts to his church.
