Pfc. Robert Lee Adams, 19, Korean war veteran, son of Mrs. Robert Goss, 121 Superior and Lee Adams, 323 East B., died of a gunshot wound in the right temple at 5:20 am Friday at Orfutt airbase, Omaha.

The youth was found in the airbase warehouse, the base commandant notified his mother. A .38 calibre bullet had penetrated his right temple, emerging above the right eye. Pfc. Adams was dead on arrival at the base hospital.

Scanty information was sent Mrs. Goss. The base official promised a full investigation. Mrs. Goss was positive the wound wasn't self-inflicted as her son had planned to come home for Christmas, and his letters had been cheerful. Young Adams was alone in the warehouse at the time of the shooting. Fellow workers said that Adams was one of the most faithful workers on the post, and seldom cared to go into town. He was in charge of the warehouse at the time of his death.

The body arrived here at 6;20 am Monday. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Wednesday in the First Nazarene church with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery.

Pfc. Adams was born in Reece, Kas., Jan 23, 1932. In addition to his mother and father, survivors include a stepfather, Robert Goss; a brother, Wesley, 121 Superior; two sisters, Mrs. Francis Hancock, Hickman Mills, Mo, and Peggy of the home, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Stanfield, West Union, Ill.
