The Otsego Farmer - April 6, 1917

On Saturday, March 31st, occurred the death of L. Clark Locke, a longtime resident of the town of Richfield. Mr. Locke was born in the town of Columbia, Herkimer county, seventy three years ago, but practically all his life was spent in the town of Richfield where for almost a lifetime he was prominently identified with the business, social and political life of the community. He served his town for upwards of twenty years as Justice of the Peace and as postmaster of the village of Richfield for the same length of time; also serving one term as Supervisor of the town of Richfield. He was a member of the Universalist church of Richfield and for many years was actively interested in its welfare. He leaves surviving him an aged mother, Mrs. David Locke of Richfield, and a brother, H. Locke of the same place; also three daughters, Mrs. John B. Conkling of Cooperstown, Mrs. G. H. Hildebrandt of Buffalo and Mrs. J. W. Ely of Syracuse. The interment was at Richfield.
