Ralph J. "Jackson" Szymanowski, 83, of Toledo, passed away on January 27, 2011. He was born on January 5, 1928 to Frank and Clara (Okonski) Szymanowski in Toledo. Jackson worked at Rudolph Libbey and Floyd Bucher as a brick mason for 52 years and was a member of the International Brick Layers Union. He also was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a charter member of Club 16. Jackson enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening. Jackson was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wilma "Jean" Szymanowski; his parents; brother, Bernie Szymanowski, and sister, Henrietta Terry. He will be dearly missed by his sister, Theresa Hayes and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., on Monday from 2-8 p.m., with a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. Prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Toledo Humane Society.
