Carlile lived in California, Oregon and North Carolina throughout his life. He resided in Woodland from 1997 - 2008 and then resided in Battle Ground until his death. He enjoyed golf, camping, traveling and softball, and was a member of the Shriners and Masons. Carlile worked as a supervisor at Freightliner.
Carlile was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Pearl Carlile; brothers, Dick, Dwanyne and Dale; and sister, Linda Reyonlds. He is survived by his wife, Doris Marie Carlile of Battle Ground, WA; son Daniel L. Carlile of Seattle, Washington; and daughters, Diana L. Dissen of Battle Ground, Washington, Debi S. Carlile of Oregon and Deanna M. Bruenderman of Vancouver, Washington. He also had 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Cascadia Cremation and Burial Services was in charge of arrangements. A service was held for Carlile Saturday, February 5, 2011 at New Heights Church, 7913 NE 58th Ave., Vancouver, WA. He was laid to rest at Willamette National cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
