Long time Taft resident Eunice Juanita Howell entered the loving arms of her Savior during her sleep on March 22, 2004.

Eunice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother from 1945 until her passing. She was an active member of New Hope Temple for over two decades. Eunice graduated from Taft Union School in 1945 and was active with the class of 1945 reunion committee.

Eunice met Walter Howell while he was stationed at Minter Field and they were married after he returned from the Pacific Theater on June 11, 1945. To their union was born a daughter, Carolyn Juanita and a son, Darryl Milton. Eunice spent many years enjoying the company of her children, grandchildren and great grandchild, which were her pride and joy.

Eunice was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty five years, Walter Howell, son, Darryl and daughter Carolyn. She is survived by her grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.

Viewing will be held at Erickson & Brown Funeral Home on March 25th, from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on March 26th from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Graveside services will be held in West Side District Cemetery on Friday, March 26th at 10 a.m.
