Howell was born in Mize, Mississippi, May 28, 1918, and died at his home Thursday morning.
During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps and attained the rank of master sergeant. He had loved on the West Side for the last 45 years. He worked as an oilfield worker for over 45 years and was employed by Honolulu Oil Co. and retired from Shell Oil Co. Howell loved gardening and was a member of the New Hope Temple.
His survivors include his wife, a daughter, a son, his sisters, five grandchildren, and five Great grandchildren.
Those who wish may call at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Sunday from 1 to 5:30 p.m. to pay their respects.
