Mary J. Tyrrell, 98, former Muncie resident, more recently a resident of Burnham, Ill., died Friday in St. Margaret's Hospital, Hammond.
A native of Dubuque, Iowa, Mrs. Tyrrell lived in Chicago for several years before coming to Muncie in 1919. She had lived in Burnham the past few years.
While in Muncie, she belonged to St. Lawrence Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella. Her husband, William C. Tyrrell, died in 1942.
Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Church, Muncie, and Mary Alice Mogle, Munster, Ind.; three sons, Dr. Thomas C. Tyrrell, Calumet City, Ill., Dr. Joseph Tyrrell, South Holland, Ill., and William P. Tyrrell, Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister, Anna Leslie, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Daniel Kelly, Chicago; 28 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Thomas Moore Church, Munster. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Beech Grove Cemetery here. Meeks Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.
