Tuesday services held for Nettie A. Brown, 97
Mrs. Nettie A. Brown, 97, a former Gilmore City resident, now residing at Tompkins Memorial Health Center, Friendship Haven, died there Saturday afternoon. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel on the Hill with the Rev. Robert Martin, pastor of Vincent United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Willis McLaughlin, chaplain of
Friendship Haven, officiating. Burial was in Marble Valley Cemetery, Gilmore City.
Among survivors are, a daughter, Mrs. J. B. Olsen, Vincent; a son, Dale Brown, Jefferson, S. D.; 12 grandchildren;
and 42 great-grandchildren.
Nettie Brown was born, reared and educated in the Kalo area. She married Alfred W. Brown at Humboldt in 1898 and they farmed south of Gilmore City about five years before moving into Gilmore City. He died in1946 and she continued to live there for sometime. The past 12 years she had made her home at Friendship Haven. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Gilmore City.

Mrs. Nettie A. Brown, 97, Tompkins Memorial Health Center, Friendship Haven, died there Saturday afternoon. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel on the Hill with the Rev. Robert Martin, pastor of the Vincent United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Willis McLaughlin, chaplain of Friendship Haven, officiating. Burial will be in Marble Valley Cemetery, Gilmore City. Friends may call at the Bruces Funeral Home until noon Tuesday when the casket will be taken to the chapel.
Among the survivors are a daughter Mrs. J. B. Olsen, Vincent; a son Dale Brown, Jefferson, South Dakota; 12 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
