Susan Ann Ady was born to David Eaton and Katherine Eaton nee Kime in March 1951 in Lynn Massachusetts. She spent her childhood in Saugus, Massachusetts, outside Boston. She was the second of five children, with older sister Kathleen (Kathy) Chapman nee Eaton, and younger siblings Carol Young nee Eaton, David Eaton, and Steven Eaton.

Sue joined the U.S. Air Force at age 18, and she met the love of her life, Ben Ady, in West Germany and the two were married in 1972. They were married until Susan's death in 2008.

Sue was honourably discharged from the air force when she became a full time mother after the birth of her two children, Kat Rhiannon Durnil nee Ady and Benjamin Wheeler Ady IV.

Sue was a committed Christian and her children remember her faithfully spending an hour in prayer and Bible study nearly every day throughout much of their childhood and thereafter.

Sue greatly loved and was loved by her two grandchildren, Eowyn Megan Ady and Cosette Josephine Ady, who remember many fun times with their Nana. She continues to be missed by her family and many close friends.
