Seven Valleys Aug 23 1943 Mrs. Elva Celesta Deveney Krout, widow of Jesse H. krout, died last evening at 8 o'clock at her home near this place. She was 82 years old and died of a complication of diseases following an 8 months illness.
Her husband preceeded her in death 10 years ago. She was a member of the Stone Lutheran congregation.
Surviving are the following children, David, York; Warren, Philadelphia; Mrs. George Hahn, Philadelphia; George, York; Jesse, Newark, Ohio; Elmer, New Brunswick, N.J.; Mrs. Martin H. Stough, Seven Valleys RD2; Conrad D., East Berlin; Elsie M., at home, and Mrs. Stewart Shaffer, Glen Rock. She also leaves 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and a brother P.P. Deveney, Elizabeth N.J.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock with short services at the home with concluding services at Stone Church. Interment will be in the adjoing cemetery. The Rev. K.S. Erhart, pastor of the Jefferson Lutheran Charge, and the Rev. M.L. Kroh, pastor of the Seven Valleys Lutheran Charge, will officiate. Funeral Director C.O. Goodling is in charge of the arrangements.
