Wesley Packard was born in Coffee Creek, Montana, on February 6, 1918, the son of Lynn Curtis Packard and Julia Solheim. He married Vivian Anderson. Wes graduated Poynette High School and attended Reppert School of Auctioneering, Indiana. He has been a real estate broker since 1946. Former employment included a dairy route salesman, ordnance works employee and insurance broker. Wes was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a PFC. He was a member of Rotary, Chamber of Commerce; past commander of American Legion post; Wisconsin Realtors Assn., Independent Insurance Agents of Wisconsin; chairman county Republican Organization 1965-66. Mayor of Lodi 1948-52; city assessor 1959-69, on Columbia County Veterans Commission 1959-69. Elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly 1966 and 1968. Committee assignments: 1969-Tourism (chm.); Insurance and Banking (also 1967) and it. interim Com.; Municipalities (also 1967); 1967-Engrossed Bills (vice-chm.); Veterans' and Military Affairs.

Wesley was preceded in death by a son, PFC. Jack C. Packard in 1962.
