Kenneth Mark Hovatter, 72, of Botkins, Ohio, died Friday, Sept. 14. 2001, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney, Ohio. He was born Feb. 7, 1929, in Parsons, son of the late William C. Hovatter and Rhonda Poling Hovatter. He retired June 1, 1989 from the Ford Motor Co. with 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Sidney American Legion Post No. 217 and a lifetime member of Sidney VFW and Sidney Amvets. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Goff Hovatter; two sons, Kenneth W. Hovatter, of Wilson, N.C., and Mark J. Hovatter, of Botkins, Ohio; four daughters, Robin Ross, of Sidney, Cathy Bartram, of Jackson Center, Ohio, Mrs. Richard "Reba" Withrow, of Botkins, Ohio, and Lisa Hovatter, of Lexington, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Iris Wolfe, of Grafton, Elsie Bolyard, of Valley Furnace, and Pearl Coover, of Sidney; and a brother, Wilis Hovatter, of Grafton. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and a brother. Friends may call at Donald G. Ford Funeral Home from 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, until the 1 p.m. service with the Rev. Jay Cline officiating. Burial will be in West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Memorial City Post No. 3081, Taylor County Post No. 12 American Legion, DAV Chapter No. 24 and their auxiliaries
