AbelBELZONI - Melanie Velcia Harris Abel, 85, died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Nichols Center Nursing Facility in Madison.Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Belzoni City Cemetery with the Rev. George Johnson officiating. Mortimer Funeral Home of Belzoni is in charge of the arrangements.Survivors include three sons, Howard Abel and wife, Patty, of Tupelo, Jimmy Abel and wife, Margie, of Madison, and Ed Abel and wife, Anne, of McComb; seven grandchildren, Mitice A. Reid of Madison, Rick Abel of Mobile, Ala., Jamie A. Brown of Brentwood, Tenn., Scott Abel of Orlando, Fla., Kevin Abel, Brooks Abel and Stuart Abel, all of McComb; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Condy Harris of St. Cloud, Fla.She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Abel; two brothers, Ed and Ernest Harris; a sister, Inez H. O'Steen; and her parents, Eli and Eula Harris. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
