Benjamin F. Neff Jr., 66,, of Beech Creek RD 1 died at his home Sunday at 5:30 a.m. following an extended illness.

Mr. Neff was a painter at Penn State. He retired in 1978 following 25 years of service.

He was born in Ferguson Township Oct. 17, 1917, a son of Benjamin F. and Sarah G, Shope Neff.

His wife, the former Martha M. Rupert, died April 20, 1983.

Surviving are a son, David R. Neff, Beech Creek RD 1; a daughter, Thelma L. Neff, Beech Creek RD 1; two brothers: Howard B. Neff, State College, and Chester Neff, Vienna, Va.; three sisters: Cora Houser and Ruthe Grove, both of State College, and Evelyn Hart, Cochranton; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, Howard, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roger D. Yorks officiating.

Burial will bi in Hays-Fearon Cemetery, Beech Creek.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
