She was born in Watseka, Ill., and lived in Lorain for 70 years, previously living in Ashtabula County.

She was a graduate of New Lyme High School in Ashtabula County.

She was a former member of Second Baptist Church, Lorain, and had presently been a member of Wesley U.M.C., Lorain, where she served as a musician for many years, was a member of the senior choir, a member of United Methodist Women, and had been a Sunday school teacher.

In 1983 she was honored by the city of Lorain and mayor Alex Olejko with ''Mabel Walker Day'' for her contribution to the community. She was a frequent contributor of letters to the editor of the Lorain Morning Journal.

Survivors include daughters Barbara Cook and Rosalie Yancey, both of Lorain; sons John Walker of Oberlin and James H. Walker of Tacoma, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were parents James C. and Eva Alice Morris; sister Doris Jones; and brothers Lester, James, William, Donald, Loren, and Edward Morris.

Friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at noon at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 220 Seventh St. The Rev. Kevin Coleman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
