DOT SHAW MAXWELL-Services for Dorthia Jo "Dot" Shaw, 75, Maxwell are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Bud Jones and Rev. Famous D. Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Box X Cemetery. Mrs. Shaw died Friday, January 21, 2011 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born November 10, 1935 at Chism, Oklahoma to Fred D. Warren and Eretta Graham Nelson.
She attended Summers Chapel school. She married Dewain F. Shaw on April 6, 1951 at Eunice, New Mexico. Mrs. Shaw was a Dietician at the Pickett-Center School for many years, a seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of Cottage Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Dewain Shaw, of the home; a daughter, Denise Byrd and her husband Charles, Ada; and two sons, Roger Shaw, Ada, and Farrell Shaw, Ada; 6 grandchildren, Camey, Chantel, Pete, Charlie, Chase and Joseph; 12 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren; a brother, Sam Nelson; two aunts, Onie Nelson and Lavelle Nelson; and a special friend, Justin Sumner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dennis Keith Shaw, and a brother, Charles Keith Nelson.
Bearers will be Brandon Atkins, J. R. Smith, David Jones, Rufus Clark, Steve Elmore and Timothy Johnson. Honorary bearers will be James Martin, Spence Martin, Herman Kirkman and Michael Hernandez.
