Gene was born September 12, 1917 to Herbert and Ethyl Shorb in the Range community in Texas County, Oklahoma.
Survivors include his wife Della, two sons Charles and Richard and one daughter Mrs. Jerry (Cheryl) Casad, two grandsons and one grand daughter all of near Grants Pass; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Debord of Kewanee, Ill., Mrs. Harry Brown of Hardesty and Mrs. Eva Love of Follett, Tx. one brother Glen of Rapids City, SD. and a sister-in-law Margie Shorb of Hardesty.
