Cecil Mary married Soren Andersen in Denmark. He was born 31 Oct. 1852 and died 11 Sept. 1925 in Atlantic, Cass Co., Iowa. They came to America with three children in 1882 docking in New York. It is presumed that Mary became a naturalized citizen at the same time as Soren, in 1905, but no documents for her have been found. In Iowa they settled in the Shelby and Cass county areas and farmed until about 1920 when they retired and moved to Atlantic. They had a total of ten children.

The 1925 Iowa State census states that her father was Chris Martensen and her mother Mello M. Martman, both born in Denmark.
