William "Bill" Rush Chambers, 72, of North Little Rock, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012. He was born to James H. and Elsie Hornaday Chambers in Ellisville (Calhoun County), Arkansas.

Bill retired in 1994 as Superintendent of Schools in Paris, Arkansas. He also served as a teacher and superintendent at various schools in Arkansas. After retirement, he taught at Little Rock Christian Academy for nine years.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Hoggard Chambers, whom he married on November 26, 1992; his children, Tami (Jeff) Chambers Johnson of Columbia, MS, Chanley (Susan) Chambers of Olive Branch, MS, Brendon Chambers of Spokane, WA, Todd Studdard of Hot Springs, AR, and Kelley Bettis of Cabot, AR; his grandchildren, Anna Caitlyn and Alleigh (daughters of Tami and Jeff Chambers), Madison (daughter of Chanley and Susan Chambers, Landen (son of Brendon Chambers), Katie (daughter of Todd Studdard), Sarah Beth, Lauren and Hunter (children of Kelley Bettis); his brother and sister, Robert (Glenda) G. Chambers, and Sherry (John) Chambers Miller; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Hoggard of Pine Bluff, AR.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Slocum Chambers, whom he married on December 24, 1961; his brother, James Donald Chambers; and his parents.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock., with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery in White Hall. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Monday at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Arkansas (501-791-7400).
