Services for Ernest E. Baxter, 82, of McKinney, who died Thursday at North Texas Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Bro. Tom Baumer officiating. Burial will be in Ridgeview Memorial Park under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Directors.
He was born on July 20, 1912, in Franklin Community, Collin County, the son of Elbert E. and Reta Lou Scott Baxter. He married Grace A. Swatsell on Oct. 11, 1941, in McKinney. He was a retired nurseryman and a member of westside Church of Christ in McKinney.
Survivors include his wife, Grace A. Baxter of McKinney; two foster children, Bill Simons and Alice Farine, both of Irving; four sisters, Velma Cottle, Gladys Jones and Ola Mae Rutledge, all of McKinney, and Marylee Dean of Pottsboro; and three brothers, James W. Baxter, Woody F. Baxter and Leon Baxter, all of McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bennie Baxter and Louis Baxter. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight.
Memorials may be made to the Westside Church of Christ Building Fund.
