VanGills, Marian A. 76, of Pentwater, passed away at Tendercare in Ludington, Wednesday, March 26, 2008. She was born in Ludington, Feb. 15, 1932 to Vernor and Vera (Stickney) Wyant. Marian graduated from Scottville High School, was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church in Pentwater, and worked at Howmet Manufacturing in Whitehall for more than 35 years. She married William VanGills Nov. 10, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Weare. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William "Bill" VanGills of Pentwater; children, Doug (Linda) VanGills of Pentwater, Rick (Cheryl) VanGills of Hart, Kim (Sue) VanGills of Ludington, Jolyn (Pete) Dumonte of Ohio, Cheryl (Bill) Evans of Hart, Melinda VanGills of Whitehall, Jill (Doug) Walls of Hart; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Peters of Brooklyn, and Carol Meguiley of Grand Rapids; also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many friends. Marian is preceded in death by one son, Randy VanGills, and one brother Harold Wyant. Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Weare.
