A son of Robert and Permelia K. (Anderson) Braden, Jeremy attended Hartsville college after which he returned to the Braden homestead in Clay Twp. of Decatur Co., IN. He successfully managed a prosperous farm and served as Clay Twp. Trustee from 1896 through 1900. Following his wife's death, Jeremy moved into Greensburg where he lived with his sister, Euphemia, and was active in the Greensburg Christian Church.

Mr. Braden died as a result of injuries sustained when he and Euphemia were struck by an automobile as they returned to their home from church.
