Sidney and Roselle were the second set of twins borne to Bertha and Samuel Kahn. They were also very different from each other. Sidney was outgoing, athletic and so popular that he was elected class president in high school. Roselle was quiet and intellectual; she rarely dated and never married. She loved learning and had the highest grade point average in her class. Sidney and Roselle won every award the high school offerred except the one for homemaking, and Sidney was chosen "most likely to succeed." However, less than two months after graduation, Sidney was killed in a car accident while driving Dave's car to New York to deliver furs for his brother. He was seventeen years old at the time of his death which occurred only two years after his brother and sister had drowned.

While Sidney was killed at seventeen, his twin sister Roselle lived until she was 88 years old. Throughout her long life, Ro loved art, music and literature. She went to college in New York city for a year where she lived with her Aunt Tessie and Uncle Alex. Because Alex played the violin under the direction of the reknown conductor Arturo Toscannini, Aunt Tessie was able to provide her niece with free tickets to a wide variety of cultural events.

When Uncle Alex lost his job with the symphony orchestra, Aunt Ro returned to Flemington to work as a bookkeeper at Dave's fur factory. Roselle earned money as a bookkeeper but preferred artistic and scholarly pursuits to making money. She played the piano, wrote poetry and prose and has done mosaics and water color paintings. In 1948 she moved to California and lived in the LA/Hollywood area for the rest of her life.

She was the "life of the party" and all my friends commented on her zest for life even though she was well aware she was dying of cancer. She passed away only 5 weeks later. Following her wishes, she is buried in New York next to her twin brother Sidney.
