Richard Edward Coleman, 84 of Lockwood, NY, went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 3, 2011, from his home in Englewood, FL. He was born in Johnson City, NY on May 19, 1926, the son of Howard A. and Lela (Shaffer) Coleman. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Ann (Shaw) Coleman; his son, Lance Richard Coleman; his sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Edward Kitchen; and step brother, Fran Woodmansee.

He is survived by his children, Colette Lynn and Bernard "Cork" Hendershot, Eric Lee and Lynn Coleman, Linda Louann Coleman; his ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; his step sister-in-law, Betty Woodmansee; several nieces, nephews; and his special friend, Gloria Kunzman.

Dick Was a Veteran of WWII, serving with the US Navy and later with the Merchant Marines. He was an accomplished businessman as owner and operator of Ross Corners Body Shop, C & P Auto Parts, R. Coleman Equipment Excavating Company and Coleman & Son Lumber Company, throughout his career.

Dick enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating and flying. Especially though, he always loved get-togethers with his friends and family.

A Funeral Service will be held at Richards Funeral Home, Rte. 17c West, Owego, NY, on Wednesday February 9, 2011, at 3:00pm, with his brother-in-law Allen Shaw officiating. Interment will be at a later date in North Barton Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit at Richards Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00pm until the time of service.
