Steven C. Abernethy, age 39, died April 11, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada due to injuries sustained in an industrial accident.

He was a twenty year member of Iron Workers Local Union #27. Born May 20, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of H.L. and Ruth Abernethy. Married Gail Lopez; later divorced.Steven will long be remembered by his loving family and friends for his cheerful outlook. He was fearless on the rodeo circuit winning many prizes, trophies, and friends. He defied danger everyday as an Ironworker erecting steel on high jobs throughout the country.

Lord, Steve was a good hand on earth and will be a good hand in Heaven. We give him all our love until we meet again.

Survived by daughters, Felicia Abernethy Lopez, Kearns; Monica Abernethy, West Valley City; grandchildren, Veronica and Carlos; mother, Ruth Abernethy; companion, Bonnie Fuller and her children; six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, 10 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Thursday, 6 - 8 p.m., and Friday, 9-9:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
