María Vicenta Sepúlveda y Serrano was born March 25 in 1815 or 1816 at Los Angeles, where she was confirmed in the Los Angeles Plaza Church on November 9, 1831. She was the daughter of soldado de cuera Francisco Sepúlveda y Redondo and María Teodora Ramona Serrano y Silvas. She married (1) Tomás Antonio Yorba y Grijalva at Mission San Gabriel in September 1834. After Tomás died late January 1845, she married José Ramón Carrillo y López at the Los Angeles Plaza Church in February 1847. She died at Rancho Santa Ana and was buried in Anaheim Cemetery on May 10, 1907.

(She could not have been born in 1813, since that year conflicts with the birth of her brother Emigdio on January 28, 1813. Her brother Fernando was born the following year on February 14, 1814. Both were born in Santa Barbara, whereas she was born in Los Angeles after her parents had moved).
