On ** March 1943, east of ********, Tunisia, Captain Brown, without regard for his personal safety, and at continual risk of his life, moved about the zone of operations of this battalion, encouraging troops, directing the fires of weapons and coordinating the operations of the various companies. Captain Brown displayed exceptional qualities of initiative and leadership in directing the operations of the battalion during the temporary absence of the Battalion Commander. Throughout the entire day, Captain Brown was of incalculable value to the undersigned in exhorting a tired command to extend itself to the utmost in it's efforts to capture it's objective.
