Mrs. Bertie Swindell Died in Savannah
Hospital Last Friday

Mrs. Bertie Durrence Swindell,60,died in a Savannah hospital Friday night after an illness of several weeks.
Surviving are four daughters, Miss Marjorie Swindell of Glennville, Mrs. Elton Butler of Columbus, Mrs. Everette Tyre of Jacksonville, Fla.; and Mrs. Robert Hallman of Savannah; three sons, Dewey Swindell and Ira Hugh Swindell, both of Glennville, and Jack Swindell of Ft. Gordon; three sisters, Mrs. Winnie Kirkland of Glennville, Mrs. Claudia Weathers of Claxton, and Miss Mary Durrence of Savannah; three brothers, Barney Durrence and Aubrey Durrence both of Savannah, and Dewey Durrence of Waycross, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Glennville First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Raymond G. Johnson. Burial was in the Glennville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clinton Strickland, Fred Collins, Eugene Purvis, Jack A. Rogers, John Martin, and Bill Griffin.
