Sgt. Foules, age 18, was mortally wounded at the Battle of Nashville, Tennessee on December 16, 1864. He died of his wounds in a Franklin Confederate Hospital on December 27, 1864 during the Army's retreat from Tennessee. He has a Memorial Marker in the Kingston Cemetery, Natchez, Adams County, Mississippi, view here.

Gravesite Details

Enlisted on July 24, 1862 into the Independent Co. Mississippi Cavalry, Gen. William Bate's Escort Company. His brother, Capt. H. L. Foules commanded the company and he was mortally wounded in action and died on June 16, 1864.
