Death of Mrs. Nathaniel Hoss
The friends of Nathaniel Y. Hoss, editor of the Silver Slate, and county
auditor of Deer Lodge county, will learn with sincere regret of the death of
his wife which occurred at their home at Deer Lodge Saturday morning. The
suddenness of the blow, for the lady was only sick three days, makes the
bereavement fall all the more heavily on the stricken husband.
A long time resident of the state, young in years, up to the time of the
fatal illness in perfect health, the mother of three beautiful children and
endeared by womanly virtues by all who knew her, it seems almost incredible
that Mrs. Hoss should have been called so suddenly by death. To the husband
and the little ones the contemplation of the happy, well spent life of the
departed will afford some consolation, and when time shall have dulled the
edge of grief they can indulge in the Christian hope of a hereafter and find
balm in the belief that the wife and mother rests with the blessed.
