Marilyn J. Van Ness Boling, 79

RUSHVILLE — Marilyn J. Van Ness Boling, 79, of Barefoot Bay, Fla. and formerly of Rushville and Connersville, passed away Feb. 4, 2011. Born May 5, 1931 in Connersville, she was the daughter of Alfred and Lillian (Gabbard) Long, both deceased. She married Robert Boling Jan. 2, 1971; he preceded her in death Nov. 15, 1993. She was married to Paul Dean Van Ness from 1950 to 1970; he preceded her in death in 2007. She worked many years for Motorola in Plantation, Fla., retiring in 1986. She was a graduate of Connersville High School. She was an active member of Barefoot Bay Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served as fellowship director for many years. She also had attended Ben Davis Creek Christian Church in Rush County. She was a member of the Baptist Women’s Group. She loved serving the Lord and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors are step-daughter, Gloria, and step-son, James Robert, Jr. Children: Victoria Sue (James Robert, Jr.) Boling of Indianapolis, Debra Kay (Ron) Houston of Glenwood, Katherine Janine (Jim) Trebley of Glenwood; Thomas J. (Lynn) VanNess of Palm Bay, Fla. Sibling: Jerry (JoAnne) Long of Viera, Fla.
Grandchildren, Jade Boling, Brian Moore, Allison Dishman, Katherine Storey, Jason Trebley, Joseph Trebley, Jan Trebley, Thomas Paul VanNess, Thomas Jacob VanNess, Corey VanNess, Justin Houston and Tiffany Durham; step-grandchildren, Tricia Bostic and Todd Miller; and 17 great-grandchildren and five step great- grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Christian Church with Howard Bullard officiating. Burial will be in Connersville’s Dale Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
