MISHAWAKA - Maurice J. "Maury" Schrader, 79, died Saturday, February 5th, at 9:05 p.m. in his residence. Maury was born February 5, 1932, in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late Maurice M. and Anna (Binder) Schrader.

On August 9, 1952, in Ft. Wayne, Maury married his high school sweetheart, Sally Ann Fitzgerald. They moved to Mishawaka in 1956. Surviving Maury are his wife, Sally; one daughter, Maureen Strange of Avon, IN; four sons, David (Betsy) Schrader of Stillwater, OK, James (Kristi) Schrader of Osceola, IN, Gerald Schrader of Mishawaka, IN, and Joseph (Linda) Schrader of Mishawaka, IN; 10 grandchildren, Emily (Chad) Compton, Kyle and Andrew Schrader, Abigail, Nick and Max Schrader, Jacob, Daniel and Rebekah Strange, and Samuel Schrader; and one great-granddaughter, Addison Compton. Also surviving is Maury's best four-legged friend, his dog, Mugsy.

Maury retired in 1990 after a 40-year career with the Peter Eckrich Company. He was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church, the Mishawaka Knights of Columbus, Council 1878, Teamsters Local 364, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. He was an avid Notre Dame football fan, being a season ticket holder since 1963.

Visitation for Maury will be Tuesday, February 8th, from 2-8 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, where the Holy Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with the Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will be at St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery in Fort Wayne on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis, 1685 Branham Lane, Suite 227, San Jose, CA 95118.
