Son of Stephen and Sophie (Rosenblatt) Martindale. Stephen was in World War I (2nd Lt 152 Depot Brigade) and later married Pauline Krech. Father of two children: Margo and Stephen IV.

Bullet Wound Proves Fatal

Stephen Martindale, Sr., 51,
died Thursday morning from a
bullet wound at his summer cottage
near Trempealeau, according to
the Trempealeau county district
attorney, John Quinn, Arcadia,
Warren Scow, traffic officer, was
deputized in the absence of the
county coroner, and conducted
an investigation of the death
Friday morn.

Martindale was born Oct. 11,
1895. He is survived by his wife;
one daughter, Margo; one son,
Stephen, Jr.; his mother, Mrs.
Stephen Martindale; and a sister,
Kathryn, all of La Crosse.

Private funeral services were
to be held at the home of his
mother, 237 South 10th street, at
2 p. m. Friday, with the Rev.
F. W. Hyslop officiating. Burial
was to be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
