Edna was born 29 Feb 1892 in Marion County, Arkansas (or possibly Memphis, TN), one of three daughters of Albert E. and Florence (Warnke) Meriwether. She married George A. Sanborn on 11 Jun 1912 in New Orleans; they were the parents of four children; Thelma Ella, Lemuel Woodrow, Estelle Lee and Lester Allen Sanborn.

SANBORN—Of Empire, La., on Sunday, August 26 1956, at 11:01 o'clock p. m., Edna Lee Merriwether, beloved wife of G. Allen Sanborn; mother of Miss Estelle Lee Sanborn, L. W. and Lester A. Sanborn and the late Mrs. Nick Lavolpicella; sister of Mrs. Elmo Gernon Sr. and Mrs. Charles Franck Sr.; also survived by five grandchildren; aged 64 years; a native of Marion county, Arkansas, and a resident of Empire, La., for the past 30 years.

Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Freeport Sulphur Company, are invited to attend the funeral, which will take place Tuesday, August 26, 1956, at 10 o'clock a. m., from the Mothe Funeral Homes, Inc., 1300 Vallette street, Algiers, La. Religious services at Mount Olivet Episcopal church.

Interment in Odd Fellows Rest, New Orleans, La.
