William Henry Rollings was born in Marshall Co, Alabama. He was the second son of William Henry "Coon" Rollings and Mary Ellen Johnson Rollings. He first married Mayme Kirby in 1898 and had one daughter named Alma. In the early 1900s there was an incident on the Tennesee River in which he shot a young man who was working for him that he thought was stealing. The young man died and Wm Henry fled to Texas where his brother, Pleas was already living. He changed his name to B.D.Rawlins. In 1918 he married Mary Lucille Spinks and had 5 more children. They were Charles, Clarence, John Thomas, Jackie and Mary Beth. He worked various jobs but most of his life he was a saleman. He had an engaging personality and loved practical jokes.
