She married Roy E. Hoover on November 15, 1925, in the Church of God, in Norton, Kansas. Together they had two children, Roy E. Hoover, Jr., and Eleanor Pullin, both deceased. The family moved to the Rogue Valley in 1942, where Roy Sr. worked for Hubbard Brothers until his retirement. Ruby and Roy celebrated their 70th aniversary in 1995, in the First Church of God, Medford, Ore.

She enjoyed canning, playing the piano and many other hobbies. She was very involved in the Women of the Church of God. Ruby and Roy Sr. also traveled extensively. During their travels, Ruby collected many of the shells that she used for her pictures.
In honor of her 100th birthday, relatives came from Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Texas, Washington and all over Oregon. The past four years, the local nieces, nephews and grandchildren have continued to honor her on her birthday.
Survivors are her grandchildren, Cynthia Nellipowitz, Sheryl Perry, Phillip Pullin and Teresa Jenne; seven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; with many nieces and nephews across the U.S.
