CASSIE DEANE CARAWAN GRIFFIN CONNOR
CASSIE DEANE CARAWAN was born in Lowland, N.C. She attended Great Bridge School and on 15 Apr 1927 was married to Ersell C. Griffin. They had three children:
Charles Curtis (9/6/28 - 7/31/01)
Bruce Cameron (1/19/30 - 7/29/53)
Ercell C. Jr. "Tony" (11/20/32 - 5/2/93)
Cassie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was active in that Church for many years. During World War II she worked in a Government defense job and thereafter was employed as a buyer in the Children's Department of Altschul's Department Store in Norfolk, Va., until retirement.
She resided with her sister for several years and enjoyed knitting, traveling, dancing and Senior Citizen activities.
She married Joseph E. Connor and they lived in Florida for several years.
A few months prior to her death Cassie moved from Virginia to Taylorsville, N.C., where she resided with her eldest son, Charles.
